Ranking After 8th Round

25 August 2011, Kuala Lumpur - Here are the round 8 rankings before the start of round 9 this morning for the top 41 players for 8th DAT Malaysian Open, 2nd KLK Tan Sri Lee Loy Seng Seniors Open 2011 and 6th AmBank Malaysia Chess Challenge 2011, 

For the top five of the Malaysian Open, all of the candidates are from China with GM Li Shilong at the top with 7.0 points. The next two are from Vietnam including the defending champion, GM Cao Sang. Followed by two from Philippines - Roland Salvador and Nolte Rolando. No Malaysians inside the top 40 this year. At 41 is Cheah Cheok Fung of Malaysia with 4.5 points.
