Viswanathan Anand registered his second win of the Tata Steel chess tournament with a clinical demolition of Wang Hao on Tuesday.

Anand now has three points from the maximum possible of four and should be among the leaders after all the games of the fourth round come to an end.

Having drawn his last game against little-known Erwin L'Ami, it was important for the Indian to get maximum points against a weaker opponent an Anand was in unforgiving mood forcing the Chinese opponent to resign after just 33 moves.

"This was part of preparation for the World Championship match against Kramnik at Bonn," said Anand after the game.

"We had looked at this piece sacrifice finding it to be very pleasant for white and had moved onto the next problem. On the board today, I liked it even more," he added.

The event, earlier known as the Corus International, is played under classical time control with 100 minutes for the first 100 moves, 50 minutes for the next 20 and 15 minutes to end the game with a increase of 30 seconds after every move is played.

Anand will be looking to reclaim his No 1 ranking by winning the tournament.

Apa yang tidak kita

inginkan

Dan ketika kita mendapatkan apa yang kita inginkan,

Akhirnya kita tahu bahawa yang kita inginkan

Terkadang tidak dapat membuat

Hidup kita menjadi lebih bahagia.
