Can wins Turkish Championship

[The] Turkish Chess Championship took place in Kemer, Antaliya from February, 4th till February, 13th, Swiss system, 10 rounds. This year the Turkish Chess Federation introduced impressive prize fund 30,000 TL (approximately 15,000 euro).

257 participants including 17 titled players together with 3 GMs, 4 IMs and 2 WIMs took part in the event. 20-year old GM Emre Can scored 8½ points and became a champion of Turkey, half a point ahead of 5 players.

Mustafa Yilmaz and Topak Engin became silver and bronze medallists respectively.
