Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Chess Federation will be organising the 27th National Day Rapid Chess Championship and also the 27th National Day Blitz Chess Championship from Feb 25-27 at the Brunei Chess Centre.
The championship is a yearly event hosted by Brunei Chess Federation.
Rapid chess time control 25 minutes per player. Nine rounds commencing 2.30pm on Feb 25 while Blitz chess time control 5minutes per player.
Nine rounds commencing 2pm Feb 27.
There is only individual category to be contested and all chess players are welcome to take part.
For Rapid, the total cash prize will be $2,500 and for Blitz is $1,500. There will also be prizes for the top 10 places and top 4 for Age Group under 12, 16 and above 50 years.
Entry fee for Rapid is $15 for adults; $10 for U-18 students while for Blitz is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
Registrations forms can be obtained from the Brunei Chess Centre Brunei Chess Federation have confirmed that top players from Sarawak and Sabah will also be participating. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
