** Update 1st Feb 2011. 4.00pm**
Both the 1st and 2nd Segamat bridge is open to the public. Most roads around town are accessible. The weather is sunny with blue skies.

Segamat, Johor
The water has receded dramatically in the last 12 hours. 1 to 2 metres in most places. This surprised most Segamat residents as the last flood in 2006 took a few days to recede to this level.
Most roads are passable now or there are alternative routes to take if you need to get somewhere.
My brother paid me a surprise visit at 4am from Taman Jenalin which is towards Medoi. He managed to get out and tour the town. He saw that most roads were passable with a few areas still under a few feet of water.
Last evening around 9pm, a convoy of 4WD vehicles streamed into Segamat town via Jln Genuang to start personal rescue missions.
Now the priority would be for the authorities to reconnect the water and power supply. This is essential to the cleaning and recovery process.
There will be a lot of debris everywhere. Do be careful when driving.

Dalam hidup, terkadang kita lebih banyak mendapatkan

Apa yang tidak kita

inginkan

Dan ketika kita mendapatkan apa yang kita inginkan,

Akhirnya kita tahu bahawa yang kita inginkan

Terkadang tidak dapat membuat

Hidup kita menjadi lebih bahagia.
